Tom Freitas, born in São Paulo, Brazil, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication from FAPCOM (Brazil) and Master Degree in Film Studies from University of Beira Interior (Portugal). Tom works as screenwriter for films, TV and internet shows since 2016 and has written short films like IGOR (Portugal, 2020) The Devil’s Village (Portugal, 2021) and Behind The Door (Portugal, 2022), besides the TV series The Blue Cities (Brazil, 2020). His academic research focus is the relationship between narrative structures and horror films, as well the influence of these elements in the film industry and includes the theses “Fear Structures: The narrative tendencies in Peele, Aster and Eggers”.
